Accessibility

PUPA Center is committed to making our website welcoming and usable for everyone, including neurodivergent visitors and people who use assistive technology. Accessibility is part of who we are, not an afterthought.

Our Standards

This website has been designed and built to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) — the international standard for making websites usable by as many people as possible, including people with disability. We treat accessibility as an ongoing commitment: as we add to the site, we work to keep it clear, navigable, and compatible with assistive technology.

The Accessibility Toolbar

Every page on this site has an accessibility button in the bottom-right corner. Open it to adjust the site to suit you:

  • Text size. Make the text larger or smaller, up to 160%.
  • High contrast. Switch to a strong black-on-white view that is easier to read.
  • Readable spacing. Add extra line spacing and space between words and paragraphs.
  • Highlight links. Make every link stand out clearly from the surrounding text.
  • Read aloud. Have the page read out to you using your browser’s built-in voice.

Your choices are remembered on your device, so the site stays the way you set it each time you visit.

How We Designed for Accessibility

  • Soft, comfortable contrast rather than harsh pure black on pure white, which can be tiring for some readers.
  • Clear, predictable navigation that stays the same on every page.
  • Plain, literal language, avoiding idioms and figures of speech where we can.
  • Large tap targets and generous spacing, so links and buttons are easy to select.
  • No automatic movement or flashing content, and animations are reduced if your device requests it.
  • Text that can be resized and reflowed without breaking the layout.

Using Assistive Technology

This site is built to work with common assistive technologies, including screen readers (such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, and NVDA) and full keyboard navigation. You can move through the site using the Tab key, and a “skip to content” link appears when you start tabbing. Your device’s own accessibility settings — text size, zoom, contrast, and voice — will also work alongside this site.

Keyboard Navigation

You can move through this entire website using only a keyboard. Press the Tab key to move forward through links and buttons, Shift + Tab to move back, and Enter or Space to activate them. When you first press Tab on any page, a “Skip to main content” link appears, so you can jump straight past the menu to the page content.

Reading in Other Languages

Beyond our English, Indonesian, and Korean versions, because this site is built as standard web pages, your browser’s built-in translation (such as Google Translate in Chrome) can translate any page into your preferred language. Right-click the page and choose “Translate,” or use your browser’s translate option.

Language

This website is available in English, Indonesian, and Korean. Use the language switch at the top of any page to change between them.
